A common aspirational path towards sustainable food systems

Millers sign new EU Code of Conduct on sustainability in the food & drink industry

European Flour Millers are one of the founding signatories of the EU Code of Conduct on Responsible Food Business and Marketing Practices.

"As the largest processor of domestic wheat, rye and oats for food, we take our responsibilities very seriously and aim to show our commitment in the transition towards more sustainable food" said Gary Sharkey, President of European Flour Millers.

The Code is a key pillar of the EU’s landmark Green Deal and Farm-to-Fork Strategy. It sets out how food and drink producers, processors, operators and retailers can voluntarily commit to improve and communicate their support for healthy, balanced and sustainable diets, including by providing transparent, voluntary product information to consumers.

In signing the Code, European Flour Millers support these aspirational objectives. We also pledge to publish the implementation results annually, promote the Code within our constituencies, and encourage and support millers to continue and support delivery of the commitment.
